Girlfrieeeenndddssss

Finally, the literature review is over and done with. After days working on it, finally.. finally.. FINALLY!

So to "celebrate", met up with giirrrlllffrieennddsss...~

Met Diana and Rafta at Lavender MRT station and we decided to turn 6 again with them things which you call "air batu seposen". I saw the classic TORA and DING DANG, those chocolate candies with mini toys. Haha. Classic.

After which, headed to Bugis to chill at J.Co Donuts and Coffee. Gosh, been awhile I satisfied my sweet cravings. The donuts are as good as ever, and so I just had to get one dozen home for me and the family. Oh, and the ambience is great. The seats are so comfy, there's not much of a crowd.. and the drinks... REAL GOOD LAAA!!! Must go ok? It's at Bugis Junction basement, behind the escalator.

Yes, too busy eating 'em DONUTS!

Of course the first thing I did when I reached home...

DONUTS! :)

I've been neglecting family time too much. Boooo~

But all of it has come to an end. Despite having to face a lil bit of cock ups, the experience was great. I love them more and more. Seeing them grow up, enjoying the art.

Laughter and happiness

Language issue

Mum asked me if I've read yesterday's Berita Harian. Being me, who's not bothered with the news, obviously didn't read. Mum said there is this person who wrote in to Berita Harian's forum and mentioned about an emcee for an event, not speaking in English. Not much of hoo-haa, yes?

It was titled, "Surprised, Emcee did not use the Malay Language".

So why am I bothered by it?

It's because the event this person, let's name him A, pointed out was held at a bowling alley. I'm pretty sure it's the family46 event eventhough no names were mentioned specifically. My uncle was the "emcee" for the event and yes, he did make use of the English language for almost throughout the event.

Firstly, HOW DO HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO GIVE OUT INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOWLING IN MALAY?!

What the hell is "STRIKE" in Malay?
Fuck, I don't even know what a "bowling alley" is called in Malay!

It's not like noone understand what the hell the "emcee" was saying. Eventhough there are loads of "elders" in the family, but still, it was simple basic english and I'm pretty sure almost all of us could understand.

Quoted from the article, "berasa hampa sedikit kerana semua lorong sedang digunakan." (Translated: felt dissapointed because all the lanes were used)

Just because A was sore over the fact that we "hogged" 20 lanes out of 24 for a good solid 3 hours +, doesn't mean that A needs to get petty over the language used. Wouldn't it worked the same way if the lanes were all used by the public?

Simply ridiculous.

If you're such a "pro" bowler, you'd be paid to bowl rather than paying to bowl and also, if you're so much as impatient to bowl, go buzz off to another bowling alley la!

Emcee never used malay language to speak.
Sheesh.

The next thing you know, we might all have to learn to speak cat so we can talk cat language to the cats. STUPID!

Note: If any of you interested to read the article, read Berita Harian dated Saturday, 19 July 2008 under the forum section.

Family46 Bowling Meet 2008 (The Aftermath)

Alright. So it's time to finally blog about the recent bowling extravaganza organised by Family46.

Some of you might be wondering, what is Family46? And why?

46 is not the number of family members we have, if that's what you were thinking. My great-grandmother (she is still alive :p) and the late great-grandfather used to live in Lor 46 Jln Kechot. So you guessed it. 46 is the name of the road and also the number of the kampung house they lived in on that road. Now, Family46 has stretched to 4 generations, and I am in the last generation.

Jln Kechot has been a significant place for the whole family because this is the place where all family members would come to meet, occassions or no occasions. Almost all 4 generations have lived a part of their childhood in this place.

So enough about that lil bit of history. Back to the bowling fiesta.

The Banner

Check out them tshirts :)

I was all hyped up for the event. Safra Tampines Orchid Bowl was covered in a sea of Maroon polo tees. It was one helluva event. Even the management of the bowling alley was surprise to see such spirit, enthusiasm and crowd for a family event.

So the event kicked off at around 8.30pm. 20 lanes. 20 teams. 5 persons per lane/per team.

Multi-coloured bowling balls
Falling pins
Gutter balls
Cheering
Screaming

Food glorious food

The event was definitely a success. The food was great. The outsiders who came to bowl all were in awe looking at the 100+ people proudly wearing the tshirts, enjoying the family spirit. AWESOME!

Noone left emptyhanded. Everyone had their fair share of prizes and trophies.

The event was definitely a success. Ended the day with late night supper at Simpang Bedok and reached home close to 3am.

SEMANGAT FAMILY46!

Signing off...

Literature Review

I had no idea what a literature review is and how it's suppose to be done but I still had to do it. So I had to start working on it because the group manager wants it by Friday, and that is today.

Seriously, I wasn't in the best of spirits and mood to start working on something which I'm not even sure WHAT the hell it is. Then again, I had to do something. I've been slacking too much for my major project.

So, I started on it since 3 hours ago. It wasn't getting anywhere.

But then it struck me. I suddenly had an idea on how to get this review going.

And so, after 3 hours, I present to you... My Literature Review....

Nothing beats having "ideas flow like running water". What a masterpiece.

A sucker for treats

Crackers, cheese and almond.

My mum had always knew I'm a sucker for the Japanese treat and she always know where to get 'em. It's so yummy, I can eat the whole packet in like less than an hour. That's why mum bought two packets. LOL.

I've been munching on them while being obsessed over online movies and psp game downloads. I have no idea how many games I've downloaded so far, but that's not important.

Too much free time? No. Just that, there isn't anything to do.
School? No lessons. It's the major project period and the supervisor seems too busy at times.
Hangouts and outings? No company. BOOOOO~

Whatever it is, I'm down to one packet left of Cheese, Almond and Crackers and I ain't gonna share. *evil laughs*

P.S. This post is so random. I had no idea what I just posted.
