Not letting go

Seems like I can't seem to let go of my blog. I've had intentions of clicking on the "Delete Blog" button but the blog holds too much memories, ever since I was in my early years in Secondary School.

So I'm gonna start updating again. Promise.

So what have I been up to? How I'm doing?

All is well. Alhamdulillah.

My family is fine. Though since she's been gone, I'm still adapting to the difference in the environment at home. It's already been a year and a kenduri was held on the 7th Nov. I didn't realise time flew THAT fast.

Phadale(bf) has been wonderful. Though sometimes he gets on my nerves but all is for the better. He has been supportive and encouraging me in whatever I do. My relatives are getting to know him and it makes me smile seeing that he is getting on well with my family members. My parents are so supportive of me being together with him.

Work has been alright. It almost got the better at one point and I was about to breakdown coz of the frustration with the school management. Nonetheless, I've had the most awesome-est colleagues ever. Nadia and CT have made work a whole much better place. However, CT is leaving soon, and I'm kinda sad because we're already so close to each other. Well, life is all about changes right?

Dikir is probably taking up a large part of my life right now. There are major plans for Nira. Previously, we were involve in the Piala Seni Dikir 4 competition. We didn't bring home any trophies or individual prizes but that debut appearance in an open category competition was an eye opener. We were ultra satisfied with how we did on stage and seeing our "big brothers" do a standing ovation at the end of our performance made us felt like we already won.

Seems like almost everything is on track but I've been depriving one very important person in my life.

To you my gf, I know we both are occupied with our own schedules but nonetheless, I is hoping hard for us to spend some time together. Even Phadale asked me to ask you out. I don't know what you've been up to other than work and probably the Mr. (At least I know he is taking care of you well, when I read your blog (: ) I hope to hear from you soon. I'm not very sure if you'd ever read my blog. Hopefully you will. I miss you truckloads. We've got lots to catch up on. :)

Ok this seems like a virgin "wordful" update so far after a long time. I promise I'd update it often now. I still have my tumblr coz I love the stuff I stumble open there :)

Syawal Menjelma

Sebulan sudah kita berpuasa...
Kini Syawal sudah menjelma...
Mohon maaf dipinta...
Ikhlas dari saya...

It's a wonder how time flies so fast. I've never thought Ramadhan would end so soon. Alhamdulillah, this year, I've managed to fast for a whole month (Heee.. and no, I'm not pregnant ok).

Ramadhan has been great. Family, boyfriend, friends, colleagues. It's been fantabulous. Alhamdulillah. Insyallah, Syawal will be great too.

At the sound of the takbir, the whole house was silent. I cried by myself in the room, reliving the memories when Nenek was around. It definitely feels different. Raya preps toned down alot now that the first house on the first day of Syawal isn't at my place. Yes, the whole family feels at a lost eventhough its been 10 months we've lost Nenek.

Nonetheless, we gave our Al-Fatihah to her as a remembrance alongside the takbir raya.

Once again, to all my fellow relatives, friends, colleagues, if ever I've done any mistakes or offended you in any way, intentional or unintentional, I hope that all my sins and wrongdoings are forgiven.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri
Minal Aidil Walfaizin

Ramadhan at its best...

What's Ramadhan without the numerous iftar(s) with friends/family? I've had a couple the past week and all of it was awesome.

Alhamdulillah, my Ramadhan has been colourful with the family, awesome friends and a lovely bf. Heeee.. :D

Nonetheless, I'm not denying that my Hari Raya spirit is rather low compared to previous years. Maybe coz this is the first Raya without grandma? Maybe. Then again, this year's Ramadhan is so fulfilling. One lost, another is gained. I'm so thankful for what has been blessed.

@ Iftar with bf at Yio Chu Kang CC last Tuesday was good. Thank god they loved the cheesecake I made.

Nira Iftar 2009 at Casafina condominium clubhouse last Friday definitely takes the cake for the bestest iftar. I miss the Nira girls so much! It felt good seeing them after a long time. It was a great get-together. And again, they loved my cheesecake too, Alhamdulillah.

I might consider opening a cheesecake business with the other 2 makciks at work. HAHAHA! :)

Iftar at J's Wok & Grill cum Fir's 14th birthday was great too last Saturday. The food was okaayy coz some tasted abit salty. Other than that, it was worth the $20 per person. Bf was there so I had a great time.

And of course, not forgetting Fadhil for being there all the time. The random times I ask you to buka with me outside and iftar with my family on Saturday... :)

Come to think of it, I can't wait for Hari Raya. It's already the 17th of Ramadhan. Just 13 days more...

A different Ramadhan

It has already been a week since the Muslims started fasting. Alhamdulillah, it has been a smooth ride for me so far.

Just that it feels that my Ramadhan feels kinda different.

There isn't nenek around anymore. I teared for awhile hearing the first azan on the first day of Ramadhan. If nenek was still around, she would be sitting beside me on the dinner table. *sobs*

Last Monday, 24th Aug, was her 71st birthday and the whole family decided to have an iftar on the Sunday just to have a small tahlil before breaking fast together. Despite having to lose an elderly, whom we all now, is the gel that holds the family together, Alhamdulillah, the family ties are still strong and we keep up with each other very often.

Enough of the sadness.

Ramadhan is the time where we can see the gazillion types of food at the dinner table almost every night for a month. On the iftar, there were tons of food and the highlight for the day was my Oreo Cheesecake!

I've gotten the hang of making an Oreo Cheesecake and its NO-BAKE! So hassle-free! So whenever I feel like eating cheesecake, I'll make it myself. Heee.. and it's sooo sedaaapp!

SEDAP KAAANN!?!?!?! I might consider starting a business.. heheheehehe

And then it was terawih together with the whole family.... :)

Alhamdulillah, I've had a good week of Ramadhan so far. Expecting it to be better in the weeks to come, Insyallah.

Selamat Menjalani Ibadah Puasa! :D

One helluva time

Ok finally, I'm back with an update. There is so much I wanna tell, I don't know where to start. Ok now let’s begin.. one at a time…

NDP 09

This has got to be the peak of the whole time I was busy. The event was marvellous and the journey throughout was sweet. Everyone had a great time. Making a debut appearance in this year’s NDP, I’m proud to be part of the dikir barat team. Of course I was happy seeing myself on tv. HAHAHAHA!

Looking at the pictures, I can say that the rest is history.. :)

Piala Raja Panggung 2009

This was also a debut appearance for me as an awok in an open category competition. Being together with Wahana Deksu was truly an eye-opening experience to the world of dikir barat and beyond. It was great while it lasted. I’m flattered to be given a chance and for that I thank you, Wahana Deksu, for such an opportunity to be given to a “small fry” like me. I will be taking this experience as a learning ground for my personal upbringing as a person and as an activist in the dikir scene.

My New Job

Yes people. I am employed, for a month already. Alhamdulillah, everything has been going on smoothly. I love my workplace. For all the efforts I put in during the jobhunt, I am truly pleased with my job. Currently, I am a CCPE in a school in Punggol. I am thankful for having such great colleagues which makes me look forward to work everyday.

To a new beginning… *cheers with wine glasses* (macam ye2 mode)

And to my bf, thank you for everything, to date.. :)

I'll be right back.

Blogger has been really a bitch whenever I try to post using firefox on my personal laptop at home. Funny thing is, it works fine on the PC at work. Thus, explains the mini hiatus and lack of updates.

I'll be back shortly after I've sorted everything out.

Right now I'm busy.. busy.. busy..
Busy as a bee. :D

Back-to-basics

How to make a kite

Photobucket

What you need:
- Tracing Paper
- 2 pieces of stick
- Thread
- Rice
- Patience
- Skill

Photobucket

Rice is the substitute for glue in the olden days. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that glue wasn't easily available during the old kampung days. So kids during those times used rice to glue their kite pieces together.

Did it work?

Photobucket

Hell yeah it did. I saw it with my own eyes.

Sometimes, our problems do not seek expertise to help solve them. It's a matter of getting to the root of the problem, analysing the situation and start looking for solutions. The solution might be the simplest things that you might have overlook. Who would have thought rice would be able to stick like glue?

Photobucket

At the end of it all, you'd realise that you aren't alone. There's always someone willing to help.

Photobucket

Like how you let go of your kite to make it fly :)

A true legend, MJ

He is one of the legendary pop idols which I believe, puts his hearts and soul to every of his songs to date. He makes everyone feel loved and appreciated. He is a humanitarian and despite setbacks in his personal life, he is still an idol to many.

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen

As you know, I was very hyped about the Transformers sequel and of course, you guessed it. (If you hadn't realised, look at my blogpost and read my tweets from yest. :p) I watched it yesterday, when it opened in cinemas around Singapore. You had no idea what I did to make sure I get tickets and good seats. LOL! All in the name of Transformers. (Ooohh.. Optimus Prime!)

I didn't have enough money in my bank account and so I contemplated on booking tickets online. I had cash on hand and already thought of transferring some amount into my account so I would be able to book online. The fickle me decided not to, but at 10pm on Wednesday, I went on the websites of GV, Cathay, FilmGarde and every other cinema website to see whether there were good seats available. Lo and behold, I almost wanted to dash out of the house and put some money into the my account. LOL.

The best seats that were available were at FilmGarde so I had to get the tickets there and then. I relaxed for awhile, and each time I refreshed, there were seats being taken. I didn't wanna take another chance and immediately went down to the ATM. HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAHAH!

I can't believe I did all that just to get two bloody movie tickets. LIKE OTHER DAYS CANNOT WATCH TRANSFORMERS! bodoh. I can be ridiculous at times, without even realising it. HAHA.

Ok so my review.....

It was packed full with action, no doubt. There were blasts, bombings, shooting etc. almost in every scene so I was all eyes throughout the whole movie.

The whole movie lasted almost 2 1/2 hrs. Yes. LIKE HINDUSTAN MOVIE SEY! Micheal Bay did a good job in making the action last that long.

The storyline was unexpected. I'm not gonna give any spoilers. Wait I become like wet blanket liddat. So go watch if you wanna know. Really good storyline. :)

I was abit dissappointed though. I thought I could expect more from the new characters. Instead, only cameo appearances were made by them. Bummer. It could have been better if only they introduced them.

Nonetheless, the $7.50 and the "sanggup-pegi-ATM-malam-buta-untuk-top-up-bank-account" was worth it. I would get the DVD once its out to watch it again n again.

I give it 4 out of 5 popcorns!
Like I said, major dissappointment on the non existent introduction of characters but the action and storyline was GOOOOOODDDDDD!

NDP 2009 Happenings

In less then 2 months time, our nation will be celebrating it's 44th year of independence. Me, being a true-blue Singaporean, is very proud of being involve in it. YES! My very first time! My VIRGIN performance in NDP!

I am very super-duperly happy and excited for it.

Last Saturday, 21st June 2009, was the first combined rehearsal at Marina Floating Platform. So for those of you who wanna catch the fireworks, it's now on every Saturday.

I am involve the dikir barat item for NDP this year. This is the first time dikir barat is being featured in NDP and proud to say that the item is the opening act right after the march past.

The thought of being in NDP hasn't sink in when we had our trainings and rehearsals at Kranji Camp but after stepping in to the Marina Floating Platform, hell yeah, it sank in deep.

The first rehearsal we had over at Marina Floating Platform was simply spectacular. This year's NDP is gonna be de bomb. The firworks are awesome! Being on the stage is an eye-opening experience... LITERALLY!!

See what I mean?

For those of you who's gotten tickets to this year's NDP, good for you! For those who didn't, uhm, beg, borrow, steal if you have to. LOL!

The low-quality pictures are taken using my Samsung F480. The better looking ones are taken from pple's digi-cams n most of it is where I'm being tagged in Facebook. I would love to bring my DIDI, but I don't think it wld make things easier for me. :D

Definitely more updates of NDP as time goes by. Follow me on Twitter if you want to know my updates on NDP. Oh and HOW DO I TWITPIC ON MY MOBILE?!?!?! :p

Transformers Hype

I am for one very hyped about the upcoming Transformers sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The first Transformers was awesome. The cinematography of it all was almost excellent. The special effects, the sounds, the explosions.. everything. Even the robots were believable.

I can't wait to see what's in store for the second sequel. If you haven't know yet, it'll be released in the cinemas on June 24th and I for sure is definitely watching it. No doubt about it.

Other than being a great movie, of course everyone is looking forward to seeing the ever-so-hot Megan Fox in action. With beauty like that, she is making everyone look ugly. LOL. I mean how gorgeous can one person be?

Too gorgeous, til it came to a point where it became unbelievably naturally gorgeous. Is Megan Fox really a man?

News spread about her claiming that she was a man and underwent surgery to be how she is now.

When I heard about it, I went like... "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~"

Something like that. So I had my "semangat-dua-saat" moment and went to google it. And came across this article:

LOS ANGELES, CA – The internet has been abuzz since this Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony, where Megan Fox jokingly remarked that she looked like a man.

When interviewed on the red carpet, she said “I look like Alan Alda in drag. I’m a tranny. I’m a man.”

At the time, reporters passed it off as a jovial attempt to cover for her nerves.

However, today she has cleared the air and officially reported: she’s really a man.

Megan Fox was born Mitchell Reed Fox in Rockwood, Tennessee. From an early age, Mitchell showed an interest in both performing and women’s clothing. When having a preacher lay hands on him did not ‘cure’ him of these interests, his parents simply put him on the pageant circuit.

Seems like it's rather worth trusting this article. Little did I know there was another article somehow with regards to Megan Fox "really" being a man.

'Man' and 'Megan Fox' aren't normally two words you would put together.

But in an interview at The Golden Globes on Sunday, the Transformer star insisted she has real insecurities - branding herself 'a man'.

Golden Globes 2009 | Best Dressed

Megan, 22, who wore a stunning, tight fitting golden gown to the event also admitted being extremely 'nervous' about her appearance.

She said: "I am pretty sure I am a doppelganger for Alan Alda. I'm a transvestite. I'm a man. I'm so painfully insecure. I'm on the verge of vomiting now. I am so horrified that I am here, and embarrassed. I'm scared."

Source: http://www.mtv.co.uk/artists/megan-fox/news/90994-megan-fox-a-man

Believing that MTV is a more reliable source of entertainment news for me, I chose to believe the latter.

DOES THAT LOOK ANYTHING LIKE A "MAN" TO YOU?!!?!?!?!

I am heaving a big sigh of relief after knowing that this bombshell is a natural born girl. By the way, how the hell can surgery really change a man's voice to "girly-girl"? Oh and I would think Shia LeBouf would barfed at having the thought of kissing a "she-male".

I have no idea why the hell I am so relieved for. HAHA!

Nonetheless, TRANSFORMERS, ROLL OUT!
*klinks metal spoons*
