Hari Raya Preps Part 3

Finally, RAYA IS HERE!

I'm done with decorating the room. I woke up late and I got screamings from Mother. LOL. Well at least I cleaned and decored my room well and good sey.

The kandang which is, in actual fact, also known as my bedroom. Yes. I have more plushies and bantal busuk then actual pillows I actually need and use. Well, I do share a room with my younger sister.

Anyway, the lamps are now fixed, credits to Father. However, as of early in the afternoon just now, my eardrums split all thanks to the drill. I hate drillings.

After the lamps are done and deal with, I needed to clear my kandang which seemed like a tsunami just came and left. OH THE MESS! I can't stand mess. I mean I might be lazy but when the mood comes where I'm very particular about everything looking neat and tidy, I come to be a perfectionist.

And after much cleaning and vacuuming with Raya songs blasting thru the speakers of my computer, with me singing my ass out like I'm doing the takbir raya without a mic, finally....

Finally.... SATISFACTION!

Oh and to end off, I leave you with an announcement from a "muf-suker-makan-rot-i" with regards to Hari Raya...

SELAMAT HARI RAYA!!!

Hari Raya Preps Part 2

Hello Kids!

Hari Raya is less then 24 hours away. Gosh.. THE EXCITEMENT! *squirms*

However, Raya preps aren't over.
This is part 2.

I've thrown out loads of rubbish from my room way before Raya. It's left to decorate and clean up whatever stuff that need not be thrown out.

Curtains are up and the bedsheet has been bought. There's even a colour theme that matches my wall, or rather, blends in well with my wall. I'm sure you know how my wall looks like.....

Oh and it's a year old now. A year and a few days old to be exact. The date is written...

I think I'm gona change it next year.
*insert screams of parents here*

Anyway, preparations hasn't been smooth though. Grandma got warded last Tuesday because of low blood cell count and she's so weak because she hasn't been eating. So it's best for her to stay over at the hospital so at least she wouldn't be bothered and get her nutrition and of course plenty of rest. So I have been breaking fast over at the hospital with family and relatives. Not very appropriate though. LOL. But so far no complains :)

Grandma would be home by late afternoon, later today. So she's all replenished and energised well and good for Raya celebrations. Who knows, she might even be able to do laps after she gets back. LOL. Yippee!

It was retail therapy over at IKEA. I so badly wanna decorate my room and Mother wanted to buy a few glassware and LOADS of tissues to stock up for Raya when the guests comes. It was a Sunday and strangely enough, it wasn't crowded and of all people I bumped into, it had to be AMIRHAZIQ ANAK PAK HUSSAIN! Haha. *Beli carpet hijau ye bang?*

Well anyway, I bought LAMPS! I've yet to fix them though.

Oh and baju raya is also done and shoes and bags.

So....Checklist..
Curtains, done.
Bedsheet, done.
Lamps, done.
Baju Raya, done.
Shoes, done.
Bag, done.
Pampering service for self, done.
Raya mood, DONE!

No, I did not go for liposuction nor botox nor plastic surgery, if that's what you were thinking. For the record, I didn't revamp my hair for raya this year. My hair has been thru enough damage. I wouldn't wana end up going bald for the next raya now wouldn't I?

Oh and when we got home, the key couldn't get through the keyhole. LOL!

I can't wait for Raya!

Hari Raya Preps

Gosh. I'm so evil to leave my blog all alone.

Excuse me for the lack of updates. I suddenly lost the ability to compose my words and come up with a meaningful entry. LOL

Moreover, much hoo-haa is going on with the Hari Raya Preps and what nots.

How are your Raya preps? Good? Mine's great so far. But somehow, I'm not getting any luck on having enough time for iftar sessions with the friends. BOOO!!~ Well I've had a few iftars but.. ok nvm.

Kuih making is fun. I had to restrain myself from plunging my nose into the kuih tray once it's out from the oven. Oh and of course from excessive drooling. Kuih tarts, kuih makmur, choc chip cookies so far. It's a yearly affair. But I'm afraid if the kuihs won't be able to last til Raya. Oh but I'm sure it will *counts number of bottles*

Other than the kuihs, the lampu lap lips also makes me a very excited goober. Father has been switching on the lampu lap lip at home quite often now. And so is every other nearby Muslim household I see around the neighbourhood. Some even looked like there's a disco going on. Really. If I ever see that house again, I'll snap a picture as proof k. Excessive flashing light bulbs in colours of blue, green, red and yellow. It'd be no surprise if they see stars during Hari Raya.

And of course, what's Ramadhan and Hari Raya without a trip TRIPS to Geylang. Yes, I've been there countless of times. Some people might not stand the crowd and the heat, well yours truly can't stand the crowd and heat. But what is Ramadhan and Hari Raya without the hustle and bustle of the Muslim community trying to get the best kuihs, Hari Raya outfits and home decor and the lelong-ings of the vendors trying to sell off their stuff.

*******

Oh and somehow or rather, I noticed Father being obsessively excited with DIDI and kept on asking me to snap pictures almost EVERYWHERE because I bring DIDI everywhere I go, apparently. LOL. Yes, the model is me father. I can't believe fathar is a narcicisst at heart. :p

Oh and trips to Geylang ends with a good ol' classic hot Teh Tarik from the local Mamak coffeeshops. BAYEK AH MAN! WA SUKA LU PUNYA TEH TARIK!

With love,
CHANTEK!~

Finally..

Finally....

All Modules - DONE
Major Project - DONE

I'm as good as graduated already. Alhamdulillah, berkat bulan Ramadhan, I got through all my modules. The Major Project presentation also went smoothly. I'm only left to finish up my SIP which will start I don't know when.

Other than that, I'm free as a bird!!!

Also, it's been 2 weeks of fasting. Two more weeks and we'll be celebrating Hari Raya. Gosh, how time flies. I'm sure the highlight of Ramadhan is the Geylang Bazaar. Despite everyone dissing the crow, we still go there because we need the necessities for Hari Raya.

I've been there a number of times. It's nice seeing the Malay Muslim community gathering together with the spirit of Ramadhan and Syawal. I look forward most to the food. LOL!
DENDENGS AND BURGER RAMLYS!

Now it's time to start baking the kuihs!

Bring 'em kuihs y'all

With love,

The fasting month

Last two days, on the 9th, Nira had their first training, after a loooonnggg time. Oh how I miss those girls. It's great seeing them again.

As it was fasting month, Nira decided to have iftar together.. was grrrrrrr-reat.
Lots of plans coming up for the girls. I'm super excited nak mampos la ok.

After a short training (you don't expect us girls to go shouting like mad dogs during fasting month right. KELAT OK!), took orders from the girls and we were lucky we had so very caring people like Achiok and Fid to help us buy food from the mini food bazaar at 900+ in Tampines.

Food ranged from nasi briyani to otak2 to kebabs to burger ramlys to macaroni goreng to potato chips to mini pizzas and finally, fresh cut fruits. Mini pizzas and fruits courtesy of yours truly :p. Food was brilliant.. what more with wonderful company. After breaking fast, I felt like I was pregnant with quadruplets. Gosh.. MY STOMACH! Haha.

Anyway, everyone was darn full after breaking fast. So while waiting for the food to digest and for Pentas taklimat to start, we decided to entertain ourselves with games. Dinah wanted to play the game called...

The Chicken, the Anak and the Wolf.

LOL! Ok inside joke. But then she was referring to the Mother Hen game. HAAHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHA.

We all laughed like hyenas on overdose of alcohol. Really.

Well anyway, all of us had heavy stomachs to move around much so we settled for passing messages....

Messages that were passed....

"Anak Pak Mail makan nasi goreng yang belom digoreng"
Which turned out to be..
"Anak Pak Mat makan nasi goreng"
Which I thought was..
"Mak I makan nasi goreng"

Second one was...
"Harapkan pagar, pagar makan padi, harapkan Naq, Naq makan burger"
Which turned out to be..
"Harapkan pagar, pagar makan padi, harapkan Naq, Naq makan burger ramly"

The ramly was added by me. LOL!
And no, I'm not a fanatic of burger ramlys, mind you, but some people think I should be an ambassador for Ramlys. -.-

Well it was pure fun fun fun..!!!!

Anyway, since I bought DIDI along, I decided to take him outdoors :)
Excuse me for my amateurish shots. I'm still learning :)

That was it. I LOVE NIRA!
And DIDI of course :p
